Two Zoom Cable Modems Certified by CableLabs®

Boston, MA, July 20th, 2000 -- Zoom Telephonics Inc., (NASDAQ: ZOOM), a leading supplier of Internet access products, today announced that two of the Company's cable modems, the Zoom CableModem PCI internal and the Zoom CableModem 10BaseT external, have received CableLabs® certification.

Zoom's PCI cable modem is one of only two internal cable modems certified by CableLabs®, who, in today's press release called the PCI certifications "a major breakthrough".
