Zoom Telephonics Expands Global Presence
Adds Ten Nations to Growing
International Distribution
Boston, MA, August 29, 1995 - Zoom Telephonics, a leading
manufacturer of faxmodem products, today announced that it
has begun shipping to the Philippine Islands. The move is
the latest success in the company's aggressive international
marketing initiative. During the last six months the Boston-based
manufacturer also has established distribution channels in
Japan, Brazil, the Republic of South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia,
Thailand, Turkey, Romania, and the Czech Republic.
Zoom's participation in these new sales arenas supplements
its established presence in other countries in Western Europe,
Eastern Europe, and the Asia-Pacific Rim. "With
our continuing expansion into the global marketplace, we are
bringing the benefits of our high-value, high-performance
products to an increasing number of personal computer users
around the world," said Zoom President and CEO, Frank
Manning. "International sales is a key factor in the
growth of our business. As a result of the rapid growth in
personal computer communications, we anticipate a substantial,
continuing increase in demand for state-of-the-art faxmodem
products in countries throughout the world. Zoom is prepared
to meet that demand. " "We are very encouraged
by the recent successes of our global marketing efforts,"
said Terry Manning, Zoom's Marketing Director. "We are
experiencing strong sales growth in Poland, Japan, Portugal,
Germany, UK, Holland, South Africa, South America, and the
Asia-Pacific Rim, and we look forward to continued penetration
into other global markets in months to come."
Established in 1977, Zoom designs, manufactures and markets
a wide range of faxmodems that link people and their personal
computers to each other through the telephone network. Zoom's
product family is one of the broadest in the industry and
includes internal, external, pocket, and PCMCIA models for
PC-compatible and Macintosh computers. Some internal PC-compatible
models include full-duplex speakerphone, voice mail, caller
ID, distinctive ring, and simultaneous voice and data capabilities.
PCMCIA models include wireless fax and data transmission when
plugged into a cellular telephone. Zoom Telephonics
