Zoom Telephonics doubles European retail outlets
Carried by six of the largest retail chains in Europe with over 2,000 retail stores

Boston, MA, October 16, 1995 - Zoom Telephonics, a leading manufacturerof faxmodems, announced at the Systems trade show in Munich, Germany that its products are now available through six major European retail chains with a total of approximately 2,000 retail outlets. Already stocked by Vobis, the largest PC retail chain in Europe, with 805 stores in Germany, 80 in the UK, 22 in The Netherlands, and 13 in Belgium/Luxembourg, Zoom hasrecently received opening orders from:

  • Zero One and Gravis Europe's largest distributors of Apple Macintosh peripherals in German-speaking countries. Zero One has 5 of its own Primus shops and also distributes to more than 350 dealers. Gravis, with20 stores, is Germany's highest volume Macintosh chain;
  • Schadt maker of Proline PCs. Schadt sells through 102 of its own stores, and also distributes through 120 "Shop in Shops," and 90 Interfunk stores;
  • Ernst Brinkmann a 50-store chain offering a broad range of PC and Macintosh products; and
  • Triangle a 400-dealer computer products chain in Germany.

During the last six months the Boston-based manufacturer also has established distribution channels in Japan, Brazil, the Republic of South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Turkey, Romania, and the Czech Republic. Zoom's participation in these new sales arenas supplements its augmented presence in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and the Asia-Pacific Rim.
