Zoom's V.34 FaxModem Wins Byte Best and PC Digest Awards
Zoom/FaxModem V.34X Plus Tops 12 High-Speed Competitors

Boston, MA, April 2, 1997 - The Zoom/FaxModem V.34X Plus was found to be a superior value in tests conducted among 13 competing 33.6 Kbps modems by two leading trade magazines. Prestigious Byte Magazine named the V.34X Plus a "BYTE BEST" in its March issue and PC Digest, published by the respected National Software Testing Laboratory (NSTL), awarded the V.34X Plus a "Recommended" rating in its January issue.

Byte named the Zoom V.34X Plus the top low-cost modem and ranked it second in the "Best Overall" category. The magazine awarded the Zoom V.34X Plus the five-star maximum for usability. According to the article, the Zoom V.34X Plus "provided plenty of zip in our performance tests."

According to the PC Digest review, "Performance of the Zoom V.34X Plus is quite good." PC Digest also commented favorably on the extended status reporting provided by 14 LEDs and the easily accessible on/off switch.

"The extremely competitive price and Zoom's strong history of quality products make the V.34X Plus a popular choice," said Terry Manning, Zoom's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "PC Magazine, PC World, MacHome Journal, several general news publications, and European-based trade publications have given kudos to our external V.34 modems."
