Technical Support Specialist Boston, MA – Near South Station

Zoom Telephonics (www.zoomtel.com) is a leading producer of communications products sold at Best Buy, Micro Center, Walmart, and other leading retailers. We are a short walk from South Station and several T lines, near the crossroads of Route 93 and the Mass Pike.

Provide technical support to customers of the Company. Respond to requests for technical assistance via phone, Email and chat. Diagnose and resolve technical support issues. Research questions using available information resources. Follow standard technical support procedures and log all customer interactions. Redirect problems to appropriate resources. Stay current with product information. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Technical experience with personal computers and broadband modems
  • Experience configuring and securing Linux server

Skills:

  • Strong customer support skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, AND cooperatively in a small team
  • Proficiency with Mac OS X, Windows (server 2003 and 2006 desirable), or both
