The Zoom Embedded Modem family provides a convenient way to plug a small, thin serial modem module into your equipment. Members of the family support a wide range of speeds up to a maximum of 14.4K, 33.6K or 56K depending on the model, with built-in-error-correction and data compression, and also support fax, DTMF decoding, and telephone answering machine functions.

Each modem module runs from a 5-volt supply and has logic-level serial port signaling. The modem's on-board controller, Hayes AT standard command processing, and command-configured world phoneline interface simplify system integration. On-Board flash memory supports updates of the modem's firmware via a telephone call if and when you like, to facilitate upgrades and minimize risk.

Zoom Embedded Modems can tailor their line impedance and call progress detection based on a software command. Standard modems include 5 settings including the USA,UK, Germany, general CTR-21 countries, and general worldwide countries. (More Info)
