V.90 Flash/Driver Updates for
Lucent & Rockwell Chipset Modems

These files are for use with Windows 95/98/ME/NT, unless otherwise noted. These files are not for use with Windows 2000.

You can determine if your modem has a Lucent chipset or a Rockwell chipset by the serial number of your modem. An "L" or an "M" in your modem's serial number indicates that you have a Lucent chipset. The absence of an "L" or "M" indicates that you have a Rockwell chipset. The modem's serial number is located on the bottom of external models and on the back bracket of internal modems (near the phone jacks).

"n" is any integer from 0-9 in the following examples:
nnnn-Z2925-nn-nnL-nnnn uses a Lucent chipset.
nnnn-Z2925-nn-nnM-nnnn uses a Lucent chipset.
nnnn-Z2925-nn-nn-nnnn uses a Rockwell chipset.

These chipsets differ in manufacturer only and offer the same functionality. Please note the presence or absence of an "L" or "M" in the below model #'s when selecting files for your modem.
Product with Lucent chipsets will also have a Lucent sticker on the front of the box.

Files listed on this page for use with our Lucent chipset products will not work with our Rockwell chipset products. Files listed on this page for use with our Rockwell chipset products will not work with our Lucent chipset products.

These Flashes are for Lucent Chipset modems only.

V.90 Update for Zoom PCMCIA Model 3000 Faxmodem

Latest Driver / Flash Update for the following modems:

  • PCMCIA controllerless 56k faxmodem, Model 3000
These drivers are available in single File Name versions and spanned for 2 floppy disks for your convenience. If you choose to use the 2-file version, please extract both files into a single folder.

The file zp575.exe is an updated driver file for the V.90 PC card. This will work in W95/98/Me/2000. You can download it as a single file or as two separate files for easy transportation via floppies. If there are existing drivers, the setup will initially remove them and you must run setup again to install the new updated files. The updated v5.75 has a problem with the electronic registration popping up with every single reboot. The solution for this can be found on Smart Facts Q & A Search Engine .
